Hey guys! The image below is of a functional electrical stimulation (FES) bike. The point of the bike is to allow those without the use of their legs to still have an opportunity to receive an amazing cardio workout. Once seated on the bike leads are attached to key points on both legs of the paralyzed individual. Electrical currents are then used to stimulate specific muscles in the legs just enough to force them to move and allow them to pedal. This is one of the many amazing machines that I have been utilizing. Use of the bike has allowed me to maintain my bone density and keep muscle atrophy at bay. Yet, that's not even the best news. Today while on the FES bike I noticed that I have begun to feel the tingle of the electricity as it pulses through my leg during the workout! This is amazing news and a sign that things are happening due to my treatments. The only direction to go is forward! Thank you for following my progress and for all of the prayers! As always any contribution to help with the cost of now and future treatments is greatly appreciated and makes a tremendous difference in my recovery. God bless!!!
I have been going to a local spinal cord injury gym for a little while now and it has really been helping me build up my strength and endurance. Recently I began to notice slight sensations in my knees as my treatment has progressed. This is an amazing breakthrough and I'm sure it is just the beginning! However, payment for the next month is almost due. I need your help! I would hate to be forced to stop my treatments due to a financial handicap. Any help you could provide would aid me immensely on my journey! Thank you all and God bless!!!
It was great being able to get back to the gym after my family had a setback due to my grandfather's health. With him now unable to drive me to and from my appointments we had to come up with an alternative means to get me there. That's when we found Palm Tran. A bus that takes you back and forth to wherever you need to go in my county! It was awesome. The lift you see in picture 3 lowers and raises me into the bus. The driver then proceeds to carefully strap my chair and I in place. They were super friendly to the point where I even enjoyed the ride!!!
